They were successful from the outset, with the first dog they purchased - CH Denhavens Something to Talk 'bout. They have owned, co-owned or bred 25+ champions to date. Highlights of 2006-07

We started this year in a big way winning Reserve Winners Dog at the "Dachshund Club of America" Show at Calloway Gardens here in Georgia, with our 6-9 month puppy dog now "CH Brownwood Garth SS."

We had eight of our dogs invited to the Eukanuba National Championship and were thrilled to win the Smooth Variety with our own "CH Brownwood Wanda Sue SS." We got an Award of Excellence with our little mini wire dog "CH Blaythorn's Adrian's Wall MW," who we co-own with Freda Kirtley. These were both very prestigious wins given by Swiss judge and former FCI President Hans Muller.

We then were proud to be awarded the first annual Dot McGraw Memorial Award for our wonderful special smooth girl "Champion Georgia Dachs Shania," who we co-own with Nancy Thompson. Shania was also awarded Best of Variety at the "Hoosier Dachshund Club Specialty" under breeder judge Guy Jeavens, a good friend and incredible dachshund breeder.

We did go to New York this year for the specialties and Westminster Kennel Club Show. We were very pleased to be awarded "Best of Variety" and "Best Opposite Sex to Best of Breed" with our own "CH Brownwood Wanda Sue SS" at the Knickerbocker Dachshund Club

specialty judged by breeder Lisa Warren. And, then went on to win the "Best of Variety" Award at the "Westminister Kennel Club" Show with our beautiful girl "CH Georgia Dachs Shania."

Shania is being shown by Sue Cassel this year since Westminster, where she was show by Carlos Puig. The first time Sue showed her on this tour was at the Dachshund Specialty in San Antonio, where she once again went "Best of Variety" and onto win "Best Opposite Sex to Breed."

We've had a wonderful year and hope to continue our winning tradition here at Brownwood Farm.
